MONTBLANC N°252 (RARE 1st Version) VINTAGE MEISTERSTUCK FOUNTAIN PEN. The junior (but still hefty) version of the iconic and radical 25x line launched by Montblanc in the mid 1950's, notable for their slip-on cap, robust construction, gold rim and single gold band on cap, along with the equally iconic fixed gold "Wing" type nib. Proposed here is what seems to be the "earliest" Version 1 of the 252, having a clear 5mm ink window (some apparently had a smaller 3mm window), but still having both nib size and model n° imprinted on the piston knob, not yet on the cap rim. Note also that the cap still has the MONT. BLANC logo on the side, as had been the case generally for Meisterstück pens before the 25x series, and which, to my knowledge, disappeared on the 252 Version 2.

Other Version 1's came to adopt the model number on the cap rim, as with the Version 2. Very clean 252, no nicks, no brassing (appearance is clean, pristine, high gloss). Montblanc Gold 14 C "Wing Nib" - M (Tines are somewhat firm and the iridium tip is thin, which makes writing feel more like that of a Fine Stub or Italic nib). Factory imprints are all crisp, clear and unworn. "252" and "M" on piston knob. Pristine snowflake on cap finial.
